Our projects in Jersey are providing context to our investigation in the suitability of green hydrogen production through the utilisation of renewable energy sources including wind, tidal and solar power.
This process in Jersey has 3 phases:
Our expertise in green energy portfolios provides a strong foundation to diversify our energy carrier interests to the production of green hydrogen. In the first instance, the Jersey-GH2-10MW and Jersey-GH2-20MW projects will determine the suitability of intermittent power profiles for the electrolysis of water to produce green hydrogen. Grid power supply largely composed of nuclear and hydro power sources will be involved in buffering the intermittent green power supply.

The second phase involves a larger scale rollout of successful green hydrogen production plants. Once due diligence and analysis and optimisations of plant design and power supply systems has been determined, this large-scale rollout will commence, utilising green energy sources in wider Europe and the UK.

Once due diligence and analysis and optimisations of plant design and power supply systems has been determined, this large-scale rollout will commence, utilising green energy sources in wider Europe and the UK.
The third phase is the rollout to locations outside the UK and Europe. Both international locations including Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, Northern Africa and Offshore locations. Case studies for these locations are currently being investigated for suitability to future projects.
